Battery Backup – One Method of Computer Security

Backing Up Data Keeps a Business’s Information Readily Available - With Battery Backups

A majority of a company’s business continuity plan is often focused on such concepts as data protection, network security, and disaster recovery.  While these are important parts of keeping a business functional and effective, the backbone of continuity relies on systems and databases being available whenever a business’s employee, clients, or other users need them.  Many people equate fulfilling this availability of systems and data mainly with keeping hardware functioning properly.  They often use a backup power supply and backup server for their larger, stationary computers.  They also employ a battery backup for each of their laptop users.  These backup batteries and other systems help ensure the hardware remains functional as much as possible.

Business Continuity Plans - Battery Backups

Another facet of a continuity plan includes having backups of the software and data a business uses.  Having a backup of software applications on multiple servers helps prevent loss of productivity in the event of an application failing to work properly.   Having a data backup means having copies of the data and other pertinent information stored on backup servers, copied to disk or data cd-rom backups, or otherwise backed up and stored for retrieval in the event the main copy of the data is corrupted.  Backing up data in this way means the vital information a company needs will always be readily available.
