Compromising information security
is not in the business continuity plan for any business. The information
gathered by businesses is used in many ways, shapes, and forms. From legal
documents, customer information, or information regarding new products are
stored on the information systems. Network security is needed to keep intruders
away from the crucial information. Hackers and cyber criminals are not the only
intruders that can cause damage and steal information from the business
networks. Disgruntled employees can do much more damage to a supposedly secure
network. The ability to track employee movements through the system allows the
business to point fingers at the right suspect.
Security failures can be combated
by a simple backup of the system. Online backup software is just one option
that can help to secure the information. Another option is to develop a clone
computer that will duplicate the system with a secure connection. The security
comes from the backup being on a different network with the connections that are
opened only during the information exchange. Security plans can alleviate many
disasters that can happen unexpectedly. With the right procedures the business continuity plan will allow
the business to be back on its feet without wasting unnecessary time. The size of
the information network can be the best indicator of the type or security system
that you choose to implement. Also see:
