The worst thing a manager can hear is “We should have had server disaster recovery software”. For those words to be spoken, typically an entire business server has lost data and is no longer functioning. The successfulness of software for server disaster recovery is not guaranteed. In many cases, the documents can be recovered, however, in many more cases, they are not recovered.
Disaster recovery planning eliminates this risk for most companies. Business continuity should be the goal of every successful business. A business that can continue despite disasters or disruptions is a business more likely to succeed. This is simple and is obvious, but still most businesses operating today do not have a plan for the continuity of their business. Whether the business is a small business website, or a multi-million dollar company, business continuity is vital. Disaster recovery software for the server should never be needed if you’ve planned properly.
